While the state government has not commented on the issue, the AAP has rubbished the claims. “The dirty tricks department of our political opponents is spreading these rumors to defame our CM. They are unable to digest that CM Mann is working hard to get investment in Punjab. CM is returning according to the schedule. He was supposed to land here on Sunday night and has already reached Delhi,” said party’s chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang.
The Chief Minister, without pointing to the matter, in a statement announced the holding of a special assembly session on September 22 to prove his government’s majority in the House. The opposition was quick to respond to the announcement, claiming it was an attempt to divert public attention from the alleged plane downing.
