Qatar: Qatar flight with Afghans, Americans, Europeans departs from Kabul, says official – Times of India

DUBAI: Fourth chartered flight carrying civilians from Afghanistan Queue A Qatari official said the Afghans left Kabul on Sunday with more than 230 passengers, including Americans and Europeans, since the withdrawal of US forces last month.

A second Qatari official said there were 236 passengers, the largest evacuation flight since the withdrawal of US and allied forces on August 31.
“Qatar will continue its cooperation with international partners on efforts to ensure freedom of movement in Afghanistan, while working with various parties on the ground towards more normal progress in the country,” the second official said.
Passengers will initially stay at a compound in Qatar’s capital, Doha, where Afghans and others are being evacuated.
Qatar has emerged as a key negotiator between the West and the Taliban. The Gulf state is a close ally of the US, hosting the largest US military base Middle East, and hosted a Taliban Political office since 2013.
