Quick action in Ladakh last year was proof of combat readiness of IAF: Air Chief

Hindon: Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary on Friday said the Indian Air Force’s quick action in response to developments in eastern Ladakh last year was a testament to the force’s combat readiness.

Addressing the air warriors on the occasion of 89th Air Force Day, the Air Force Chief also said that the Indian Air Force should show the nation that outside forces will not be allowed to violate its territory.

“As our challenges grow, so too does our strength and resolve to ensure the best possible application of air power. When I look at the security landscape we face today, I am completely I am conscious that I have assumed command at a crucial time,” he said at an event organized at Hindon airbase on the outskirts of Delhi.

“We must show the nation that outside forces will not be allowed to violate our territory. I promise to do everything possible to provide you with clear direction, good leadership and the best resources I can mobilize.

Air Chief Marshal Chaudhry said the past year was “very challenging but extremely rewarding”.

“The prompt action in response to developments in eastern Ladakh was a testament to the combat readiness of the Indian Air Force. Our efforts to complete all work related to COVID was also a great achievement in support of the national efforts,” he said.

The air force chief said the security environment in the region and beyond has been “affected by a complex interplay of geopolitical forces”.

“In addition, the advent of new domains over and above the traditional domains of land, sea and air has resulted in a paradigm shift in the way military operations are conducted,” he said.

Air Chief Marshal Chaudhry said the ongoing capability enhancement in the Indian Air Force is aimed at providing the optimum means for employing air power and achieving the desired results “fast and decisive”.

“I will continue to rely on your skills, courage, determination and hard work in the years to come. Remember that it is our sacred duty to protect the sovereignty and integrity of the country at any cost and you have to ensure that we Don’t let that get you down.
