Rahul Gandhi said that the French prefer “Indian sweets” instead of desserts.
Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi recently revealed some interesting facts about his life in a video interview. In the clip shared on his Instagram account, the Congress leader is seen discussing his passion for food and also revealed his “favourite chef”.
In an interview with YouTube channel ‘Khane Mein Kya Hai’, Mr. Gandhi revealed that former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav is a very good cook. He added, “But among all of us, my mother is the best cook.” The Congress leader said that ‘my sister will not like it’ but veteran Congress leader Sonia Gandhi is ‘number 1’ in cooking. The former MP said that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, her sister and the oldest general secretary of the party, is second only to cooking.
Mr. Gandhi also said that he drinks coffee in the morning and prefers tea at night. Furthermore, he also said that he prefers “Indian sweets” over French desserts and that if given a choice between sweet and spicy food, he would choose the former.

A few days ago, the former Congress chief visited Old Delhi’s Matia Mahal Bazaar and Bengali Bazaar and relished the popular cuisine of these regions. Mr. Gandhi met a famous “sharbat” seller in the Matia Mahal area. He fed himself fruits and also tasted “golgappe” in Nathu sweets in the Bengali market. He is often seen visiting popular eating places in Delhi.
Rahul Gandhi vacated his official residence in central Delhi on the last day of the deadline yesterday following his disqualification as a member of the lower house of parliament. The Lok Sabha Housing Committee had sent a letter to him asking him to vacate the 12 Tughlaq Lane bungalow, which he has been occupying since 2005, by April 22.
