A day after pilot Aditya Bal along with another flight lieutenant was killed in the Rajasthan crash incident, his family on Friday urged Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to immediately ground the MiG-21 fighter jets, before one And one more life is lost in the accident.
“We request the Defense Minister to immediately stop using MiG 21 fighter jets as they have already claimed many lives. Please land them immediately before another accident happens and it claims another life,” said Kamaljeet Bal, uncle of the deceased Hindustan Times.
Advitiya’s mother Praveen Bal said, “I told him (Advitia) to sleep as he had to go for training. Had I not asked him to leave, he would have been alive today.”
A MiG-21 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in Rajasthan’s Barmer district on Thursday. Both the pilots of the MiG-21 trainer aircraft lost their lives in the accident.
“IAF deeply regrets the loss of lives and stands firmly with the bereaved families. According to the Indian Air Force statement, a Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.
“It was an Indian Air Force plane that crashed near Bhimda village in Bytu,” Barmer District Collector Lok Bandhu said. PTI, The Barmer collector said that he was on his way to the spot.
