Kota: A blood-soaked body of a girl with serious injuries on her neck and head has been recovered from a forest in Bundi district. The police gave this information on Friday.
Bundi Superintendent of Police Jai Yadav told PTI that two people, including a minor, have been arrested. The involvement of the third accused cannot be ruled out, he added.
A 15-year-old tribal girl had gone out with two of her friends to graze her goats on Thursday afternoon.
On their return in the evening, both the girls told the parents of the victim that she had stopped midway. However, when she did not return for a long time, they moved on.
Police said the girl’s parents and relatives launched a search to find her naked body.
A police officer said that prima facie it appears that the girl was raped and then murdered.
A case has been registered against both the accused under sections 302 (murder), 201 (disappearance of evidence of offence) and 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, the official said.
He said that after the postmortem, the body of the girl has been handed over to her family members.
