The actor revealed that he called up director Shiva after watching ‘Vishwasam’ and later wanted to show the superstar in a village avatar again.

The 70-year-old revealed the story behind the film’s existence in a recent post on voice-based social media platform Hootee. ,petta showed me in a stylish avatar, and released with faithful, which was directed by Siva and starred Ajith. Both the movies were super hit, and that’s why I was very curious to see faithful, Its producer (Satya Jyothi Thiagarajan) arranged a screening. I found the film interesting till the interval, but still I was wondering why it was such a huge success. However, as it approached the climax, its color changed and I started clapping towards the end,” reveals Rajinikanth.

Thereafter, the actor met Shiva. “He said it was very easy to give a hit with me. It shocked me, because no one had told me that before. He only said that I should act in a film based on the story (eg. Muthu, Annamalai And Padayappa) and it should be set up in a village.”
Then Rajinikanth asked Shiva to come up with a script in the same mold as Shiva asked him for 15 days.
Within 12 days, Shiva came back to meet Rajinikanth with a script. “They only asked for two and a half hours of my time and three bottles of water. After narrating the story, I started crying and hugged him,” recalls the star. Annaatthe Has clicked big-time with the audience.
