Playing a police officer suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in his upcoming film “Hit – The First Case” was a memorable experience for the actor. Raj Kumar Rao, which says he is attracted to complex characters. In his career spanning 12 years, Rao has impressed audiences with his stellar performances in films like “Shahid”, “Trapped” and “Newton”. In “Hit”, he plays Vikram Jaisingh, a cop who is on the hunt for a missing woman while he is battling with mental health issues.
“It’s a big part because it’s so complicated. I like things that are complicated in my characters. I don’t want it to be a journey, it has twists and turns. You have to have conflicts in your character’s head. told PTI in an interview.
The National Award winner said that she enjoyed working in the film as she got to know the mindset of someone who is suffering a lot from his past.
The 37-year-old actor said, “He has baggage. That trauma has turned into PTSD, he has panic attacks. He is so passionate about his work, but his work is such that it gets triggered sometimes.” “
Since his character had no reference point, Rao said he read a lot about PTSD and watched many videos of people with the disorder.
“I wanted it to be true because there are people who suffer from this disorder. I couldn’t do anything with my imagination, it had to be factual. So, I was carrying that stuff across. Whenever my The triggers were real. It used to be on the sets. Mentally, it was a taxing film,” he said.
On several occasions during the shoot, the actor said that it would take him a while to come out of character, even if they were done for the day. “There are some scenes that are very intense in nature. So, it took some time to break out of it.
