Actor Ranbir Kapoor has recently apologized for his now-viral “fellow” remark while targeting wife Alia Bhatt during a YouTube live video.

The Bollywood star, who was in Chennai today to promote his upcoming film brahmastraaddressed the issue and explained that he has spoken to Aaliya about this as well.

“First of all, I love my wife for everything I have in my life. This is a joke that didn’t turn out to be funny, and it was not my intention. I apologize to those who have been inspired or hurt by this I talked to Aaliya about it later and she really laughed at it and didn’t mind. I have a really bad sense of humor and sometimes it just falls on my face. I am sorry if I have hurt anyone,” he said.

Ranbir, who was present at the event along with actors Nagarjuna and SS Rajamouli (who is presenting) brahmastra), while discussing the film with Alia and director Ayan Mukerji, was called out for her comments earlier this week.

When asked why they are not promoting the film aggressively, Alia, who is currently pregnant, replied, “We will be promoting the film, and we will be everywhere, but if you are asking this question Why are we not fillloads everywhere, now our focus is…”

Before she could complete her answer, Ranbir quickly pointed to his wife’s baby bump and said, “Well, I can say someone has a philod!”

This led to the actor being heavily criticized on social media for being insensitive to Alia’s pregnancy weight, with previous clips of her comments in other interviews also doing the rounds.
