Ranibennur election result: Prakash Koliwad of INC defeats Arun Guttur of BJP

Karnataka Ranebennur Assembly election results: In Ranebennur constituency, Prakash Koliwad of Indian National Congress defeated Arun Kumar Guttur of Bharatiya Janata Party by a margin of 9800.

Ranebennur, A Assembly seats in Mumbai Karnataka region (Kittur Karnataka) and Haveri district of Karnataka have more than 5 crore registered voters. The Election Commission of India classified this Assembly seat (Ranebennur, Ranebennuru) as semi-urban.

Earlier this month, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a roadshow in Haveri’s Ranebennur while campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections.

Addressing the people, Shah urged them to form a double engine government in the state of Karnataka.

In February, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the Shivamogga – Shikaripura – Ranibennur new railway line. The railway line will be developed at a cost of Rs. 990 crore and will provide enhanced connectivity of the Malnad region along the Bengaluru-Mumbai mainline.

The PM had emphasized that Haveri and Davangere districts would also be benefited once the Shivamogga-Shikaripura-Ranebennur new line is completed. He underlined that this line will not have any level crossing, making it a safe rail line where fast trains can run smoothly.

The term of the 224-member Karnataka Assembly is set to end on May 24, 2023.

in 2018 karnataka assembly electionsKPJP candidate R Shankar has won from Ranibennur assembly seat by securing 63910 votes. KPJP candidate defeated INC candidate KB Koliwad by a margin of 4338 votes.

In the subsequent by-elections in 2019, BJP candidate Arunkumar Guththur (MMP) defeated Congress candidate KB Koliwad by a margin of 23222 votes.
