Several SpiceJet flights were delayed and canceled on Wednesday after the airline faced a ransomware attack last night.
“Some SpiceJet systems suffered a ransomware attack last night, which has affected our flight operations,” the airline said in a statement.
Though SpiceJet’s IT team has controlled and rectified the situation to a great extent, it has had a massive impact on its flights, leading to delays.
“Some flights to airports where night operations are banned have been cancelled. SpiceJet is in touch with experts and cyber crime authorities on the issue,” the statement said.
Earlier in the day, the airline said that the ransomware attack slowed down the morning flight, but the airline’s IT team rectified the situation and flights were operating normally.
