Ranjan holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Mumbai and a Masters degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics.
The Reserve Bank on Friday said Sitakantha Patnaik and Rajeev Ranjan have been appointed as executive directors with effect from May 1. Ranjan will also serve as an ex-officio member of the rate-setting panel Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).
Before being promoted as ED, Patnaik was an advisor in the Department of Economic and Policy Research (DEPR), while Ranjan was serving as an advisor in charge of the monetary policy department and secretary of the MPC.
RBI said that as Executive Director (ED), Patnaik will look after the Department of Economic and Policy Research, while Ranjan will look after the Department of Monetary Policy.
Ranjan holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Mumbai and a Masters degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics. Patnaik has a PhD in Economics from the University of Mumbai.
