The BSE Sensex fell over 1300 points or 2.29 per cent to end at 55,669 after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) hiked the repo rate in a surprise move. The broader NSE Nifty also ended 392 points or 2.29 per cent lower at 16,678. To control inflation, RBI raised the benchmark lending rate to 4.40 per cent. Some of the big losers in the BSE Sensex include HDFC Bank, Maruti, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Titan and IndusInd Bank.
