India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana was bought by RCB for a record Rs 3.4 crore in the WPL auction 2023 on Monday, February 13, and she could not control her excitement about it. Mandhana was caught on camera celebrating her signing with Royal Challengers Bangalore along with other members of Team India. The Indian team is currently participating in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa. Just yesterday it defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets and a day later it is registering victory in Mumbai as well. RCB welcomed the star batsman with an extraordinary tweet. He shared a picture from the time Mandhana met RCB men’s team batsman Virat Kohli.
After being selected, Mandhana tweeted to send a message to RCB fans: ‘Namaskar Bengaluru’. Mandhana expressed her happiness on joining the RCB franchise in a conversation with Geo Cinema.
In the photo you can see Mandhana is shaking hands with Kohli and she has a big smile on her face. No wonder she always wanted to be a part of the RCB family. The tweet instantly went viral as even RCB fans could not contain their excitement. RCB captioned the photo: “#18 Meet #18” with an emoji depicting the message.

Mandhana, who opened for Team India, is among the most dangerous batsmen in the world. She is also the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team. Mandhana has scored 2651 runs in 112 T20 matches at a strike rate of 122, while she has 20 half-centuries to her name. He has also played 77 ODIs scoring 3073 runs and 4 Tests scoring 325 runs.
In all likelihood, Mandhana will also be the captain of RCB. The franchise has paid Rs 3.4 crore for him and wants him to lead the team as well. Not to forget, RCB have also got Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry, explosive wicketkeeper and batsman Richa Ghosh and India pacer Renuka Thakur. Sophie Devine is also a part of the women’s team of the RCB franchise. They are already looking a dangerous side in the league, at least on paper.
