New Delhi: Karnataka Minister Ashwath Narayan Said on Friday that his government would take strict action in the murder BJP youth wing worker Praveen Netaru And also ready to “encounter” if needed.
Narayan’s stern remarks came a day after Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that Karnataka was ready to adopt the “Yogi Adityanath model” to deal with anti-national and communal elements in the state, if needed.
However, the Karnataka minister went a step ahead, saying the Bommai government would be “five steps ahead of UP” in dealing with such incidents.
“We will take strong action even if it means encounter. We will move five steps ahead of UP. Karnataka is progressive and will be a model for other states,” Narayan told reporters.
BJP youth wing worker Nettaru, a member of Dakshina Kannada District BJP Yuva Morcha Samiti, was hacked to death by three bike-borne miscreants in front of his broiler shop in Bellary when he was on his way home.
The incident sparked outrage in the state over incidents of stone pelting, police lathi charge, attack on state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel’s vehicle and mass resignations by party workers.
