Retail inflation rises to 4.91% in November
Higher food prices lifted India’s November retail inflation on a sequential basis, official data showed on Monday.
Data presented by the National Statistics Office showed that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose to 4.91 per cent last month from 4.48 per cent in October 2021.
However, on a year-on-year basis, the growth in retail inflation for the previous month was lower than the 6.93 per cent growth recorded in November 2020. Despite the increase, retail inflation remained within the range of the Reserve Bank of India’s target of 2-6 per cent. ,
