In a first for Madhya Pradesh Police history, IPS officer Sonakshi Saxena will honour her father, DGP Sudhir Saxena, in a poignant farewell ceremony. As Sudhir Saxena prepares to retire on November 30, 2024, his daughter, currently serving as a DCP, will salute him during the farewell procession at Bhopal’s Motilal Nehru Stadium. Sudhir Kumar Saxena was born in Gwalior on November 15, 1964. As per information, Sudhir Saxena was an engineering student before joining the IPS. He completed BE first. He then completed MTech as well. He took and passed the Union Public Service Commission’s (UPSC) Civil Services Examination in 1986 after finishing his engineering courses. He joined the 1987 batch of IPS officers. On December 15, 1987, he was appointed to the position of IPS.

Sudhir Saxena served as the Superintendent of Police at Chhindwara, Raigarh, Ratlam, Jabalpur, and other places after joining the IPS. Following this, he occupied a variety of positions. He served as the CM of Madhya Pradesh’s OSD from 2012 to 2014. From 2014 until 2016, he served as the Chief of Intelligence. He later held the position of Director General of the CISF. In 2022, Saxena was appointed Director General of the Madhya Pradesh Police (MP DGP).
The Story of IPS Sonakshi Saxena
Sonakshi, Sudhir’s daughter, followed in her father’s footsteps and joined the IPS. Sonakshi Saxena was born on December 11, 1992, and has a background in law. After her LLB, she started preparing for UPSC. In 2019, she cracked it and in 2020, was inducted as an IPS. Sonakshi was previously assigned to City Police Indore as an ACP. Sonakshi is currently employed as Bhopal DCP Intelligence after she was sent to Bhopal.
