We have all heard countless times the story of Aladdin, a poor young boy who was left trapped inside a cave by a cunning magician. However, what Aladdin caught inside the cave was a magic lamp, in which lived a genie who brought all happiness and prosperity. But what if it was a devil instead of the angelic host inside the lamp, and what possible fate would Aladdin have if things went south? Chinta Mani, the tale of magic and misfortune, now airing on Disney+ Hotstar, is all set to take you on a thrilling yet never-seen-before adventure with a hint of science-fiction, supernatural and humour.

The Third Saints Art and story writer Sudhanshu Rai Original is the story of three friends who get hold of a magic stone – Mani – which has the power to predict the future. It begins with Cheeku, a young man played by Sudhanshu Rai, who goes to his friend’s house for a fun-filled evening. Hurrying up by his friends Komal and Ballu (played by Abhishek Sonpaliya and Akhlaq Ahmed Azad), he takes a shortcut to pass through a deserted factory where he encounters a vagabond played by Shobhit Sujay, who makes him magical. Provides stone. Without wasting any time, Cheeku buys it in exchange for some cash and goes to his friends, but what happens is beyond their wildest dreams.

Writer-producer Puneet Sharma, who plays the director for the film, said, “I have always been inspired by the extraordinary charm of world cinema and the old school of filmmaking. Chinta Mani is an attempt by us to revive that same charm in the contemporary setup in a way that it resonates for the Indian audience. We look forward to even more love and appreciation than our previous projects.”

Elaborating on what’s in store for the audience in Chinta Mani, story writer-filmmaker Sudhanshu Rai said, “Even the art originals of previous saints, Chappati and Detective Bumrah, in their own way.
