PMK leader says keeping him in special camps without any reason is human rights violation

PMK President Anbumani Ramadoss on Wednesday said the Eelam Tamil refugees lodged in the special camp at Tiruchi Central Jail should be released immediately by the state government.

Dr. Anbumani said that Eelam Tamil is on a hunger strike inside the jail for the 13th day in a row and has been demanding that they be released immediately.

“The health of three people is in danger. There are no complaints against those living in special camps. There is no case before them. If they are released, they want to go back to their homeland and live with their relatives. Keeping them in special camps without any reason is a violation of human rights,” said Dr Anbumani.

He claimed that a special camp is worse than a jail. “Man is not fit to live. He has not been released even after assuring him of his early release. Chief Minister Stalin has taken several steps for the welfare of Eelam Tamils. Keeping them there indefinitely is not right. They should be released immediately,” he said.
