The constituent business will be a separate company which will also be run by Met Rimac.

The Rimac group is now fully operational as the umbrella company, which is also the parent of the audacious hypercar maker Bugatti-Rimaq after the duo joined last year. As part of the new structure, there is also a new Rimake technology business, which is 100 percent owned by the Rimake Group, while the Bugatti Rimake is 55 percent owned by the Rimac Group and 45 percent by Porsche.

Rimac has cut EV powertrain and battery supplies for brands such as Porsche, Hyundai, Kia, Aston Martin, Pininfarina and even Koenigsegg. Rimake Technology is a continuation of the same business but has now been split off into a new business entity. As a part of this, it will supply high-performance battery systems, electric drive units, electronics systems and user interface components to third party OEMs as it has been its most profitable business unit. The company will also provide engineering, development and production services.

“Having delivered components for a number of specific volume projects over the past years, Rimake Technology is expanding its production capacity and will manufacture thousands of high-performance systems per year by 2024 with products in the hundreds of thousands of volumes going forward. . from small hybrid battery systems to full rolling chassis,” Rimac said in a statement.

A New Bugatti Remake Headquarters Is Already Under Construction

Rimac Automobili founder Mate Rimac will continue to be the CEO of this new business unit, as will the entire group and CEO of the Bugatti-Rimack joint venture. “We’re working on projects where we’re producing batteries in the thousands and hundreds of thousands of units per year for big car companies. It’s not just batteries, but powertrains, e-axles, infotainment systems and the like. There are things too.” They said.

Rimac Technology has more than 1,000 employees and is free from any oversight by any other manufacturer, however, Met Rimac said it would maintain a close collaboration with Bugatti-Rimaq before they are sold to OEM partners.

“Separating the technology business into its own entity is a natural move as the focus of the two markets, hypercars and components, are completely different. Rimake Technology’s products, for example, need to be at the cutting edge of performance, yet highly cost-competitive and To be mass-producable, while those issues are secondary to the hypercar business,” he said.
