Guwahati: India’s opening pair Rohit Sharma And KL Rahul Entered the T20I record books as he broke the record for most partnerships in T20Is with over 50 partnerships and most partnerships for India in T20Is.
The Indian pair achieved the feat during the second T20I of the three-match series against South Africa.
Pakistan’s opening pair of Babar Azam-Mohammed Rizwan held the record for most 50-plus partnerships in T20Is (14) but went past the Indian pair of Rohit and Rahul.
They managed to put on a 96-run partnership which was the 15th half-century stand for the pair.
The Pakistani pair is now second on the list, while the Irish pair of Paul Stirling-Kevin O’Brien are third with 13 such partnerships.
Another record that the batting pair achieved was the highest partnership runs for India in T20Is. Rohit and Rahul’s pair made a better record Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma.
Rohit and Rahul have scored 1,744 runs together, beating Shikhar and the Indian captain’s number, who have managed to score 1743 runs.
Rohit Sharma is also involved in the next best partnership with Virat KohliBecause both the batsmen have teamed up to score 1,094 runs in T20Is.
KL Rahul played a brilliant half-century in the match, scoring 57 runs in 28 balls with the help of five fours and four sixes.
The Indian captain also made a brilliant contribution of 43 runs in 37 balls with the help of seven fours and a six.
