Rohit Shetty said, ‘Will release the circus whenever the window is found’

film producer Rohit Shetty He says that he is in no hurry to announce the release date of his upcoming comedy ‘Circus’ as he wants the industry to clear the backlog first. Shetty’s action-drama “Sooryavanshi”, titled by Akshay KumarIt was the first major Hindi film to release in cinemas after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced the reopening of cinema halls in the state from October 22.

“Sooryavanshi”, which had to wait for more than 19 months for a theatrical release on November 5 due to the coronavirus pandemic, posted a two-week single at the box office with no other Hindi film release. It has so far earned over Rs 180 crore at the domestic box office.

Shetty said “circus”, in front Ranveer singh, have to wait for the correct window to get the release. “There is so much backlog, I didn’t want to jump into it. Also, everyone respected me for not coming for two weeks when I came up with ‘Sooryavanshi’, people could have clashed with me or came next week. But they Gave me that space because I was holding my film for so long. Now it’s my turn. Whenever I get a window, I will release it. The day I announced ‘Sooryavanshi’ (release date), I could have declared ‘Circus’ too, but it would not have been right,” the director told PTI.

“Circus” will be Shetty’s third collaboration with Singh after “Simmba” and “Sooryavanshi”, in which he starred in an extended cameo. The film is based on William Shakespeare’s classic play “The Comedy of Errors”, which revolves around two sets of identical twins who were accidentally separated at birth.

With “Circus”, Shetty intends to take the audience back to his comedy days of “Golmaal” part one and “All the Best”, before he starred in “Singham”, “Simmba” and “Sooryavanshi”.

“What you felt for ‘Golmaal’ and ‘All The Best’, you will feel for it too. It’s not like ‘Sooryavanshi’ with the message. When people come out of theaters to watch a film, I want one. He has a smile on his face. It is such a lovely film.”

“Circus” also stars Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Siddharth Jadhav, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra and Vrajesh Hirji, among others.

The team will leave for the last schedule of the film in Ooty on December 2.
