Rowdy-sheeter held for trying to sell country-made pistol in Bengaluru

Officials of the Organised Crime Wing on Tuesday arrested a 32-year-old rowdy-sheeter in Bengaluru, and seized a country-made pistol with two rounds of ammunition from him.

Based on a tip-off, a team of police tracked down Sameer Shariff in DJ Halli and allegedly caught him red-handed while he was waiting to deliver the weapon to his customer.

Sameer allegedly told the the police that he had sourced the weapon from his contact in Delhi, following which he brought it to the city with a purpose of selling it.

Based on the information, the police have arrested his source, who has been identified as Harpal Singh from Punjab. Both were booked under the Arms act.

The duo have been taken into custody to ascertain their network, a police officer said.
