The Shotgun 650 Twin will be powered by the same 648 cc parallel-twin engine as the Interceptor and the Continental GT 650 model. However, it remains to be seen whether the shotgun will have revised power figures or the same 46.9 hp and 52 Nm torque tuned. This will put it in competition with RE’s outgoing twin model and other cruiser models on sale in the country, such as the Kawasaki Vulcan S.
In terms of design, the SG650 Twin gets a bobber-like stance with chopped front and rear fenders, a wider fuel tank, tubular handlebars and a wider rear wheel. It also got a machined bikini fairing like what we have seen in the recently launched RE Scrum 350. Enthusiasts were especially excited about the upside down front forks seen in the SG 650. It remains to be seen how blessed the production version of that kit will be.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is expected to be launched in India in November 2022. Its price is expected to be between Rs 3 to 3.5 lakhs. Reports also suggest that the platform will also serve as the foundation for the Super Meteor 650 motorcycle, which is expected to be launched around the same time.
