Royal Enfield The upcoming Super Meteor is briefly shown in one of the videos, released as the build-up for the brand’s South Pole campaign. The 650cc cruiser, based on the Royal Enfield 650 platform, was featured very briefly in the “Team Rider Dean” video in the series of build-up videos Royal Enfield is releasing on its social media channels as a run up south. Pole Expedition. Though the bikes are not clearly visible in the video, we can see at least three different variants of the Royal Enfield Super Meteor lurking in the shadows in the foreground. From what we can see, the motorcycles are production ready, complete with upside down forks, a first on any Royal Enfield, a flat and wide handlebar, retro-style handlebar grips, as well as a single-pod instrument console, a smaller dial with, which is expected to be a tripper navigation pod. There’s a lot of chrome and brushed aluminum finish on the details, notably the headlight bezel, headlight bracket, mounting turn indicators, switch grip panels, as well as bar-end weights.

The video also shows three different bikes, and like the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, the Super Meteor will also come in different flavours, with the possibility of more personalization through the Make It Your Configurator. One of the bikes facing the audience in the video has a windshield, while the other two do not. An accessory mount, and a rounded, retro-style taillamp are also possible. The Royal Enfield Super Meteor is nearing production and will most likely be launched in the first quarter of 2022.

The upcoming Royal Enfield 650 cc cruiser will be based on the 650 Twins platform, so it will be powered by the same 648 cc, parallel-twin engine that makes 47 bhp at 7,150 rpm and 52 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm. The Super Meteor is likely to get alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. At the EICMA 2021 show in Milan, Italy, Royal Enfield also showcased the SG650 concept on the same platform. But this is more than a design concept for now, and if Royal Enfield expands the platform, the SG650 concept will be offered as a production as a separate model sometime in the future.
