The media outlet further reported that the Tribunal ruled that the 51-year-old woman was victimized as a result of a discrimination complaint made against another employee. Ms Lehr, who is of mixed black African heritage, also won claims of unfair dismissal, race and age discrimination.
She explained that she had been working at Espers Casino for more than 10 years and was the most experienced cashier at the desk, however, she was still denied training courses offered to younger employees. She told the tribunal that she had seen “many” colleagues promoted, all of whom were younger and not black or mixed race. Their applications for higher roles were also rejected or ignored by the company.
In addition, according to 7newsMs Lehr took a period of stress leave and upon returning, she said she had been “abandoned” by her colleagues, who then discussed plans for after-work drinks in front of her without extending the invitation.

“We all conclude that the boycott was because he complained of discrimination. While the working relationship was relatively cordial, the team did not want to socialize with anyone who complained of discrimination. It was their displeasure at the complaint. In the end, Ms Lehr was awarded £74,113.65 in compensation based on hurt feelings and loss of overtime and financial loss.
