“After diverting foreign military aircraft away from the state border of the Russian Federation, the Russian fighter (jet) returned safely to its airbase,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The two aircraft were a P-3C Orion German patrol aircraft and the Atlantique 2, an anti-submarine patrol aircraft belonging to the French Navy.
