Saba Azad has been in discussion for months regarding her personal life.
Saba Azad talks about the scrutiny of her personal life after starting dating Hrithik Roshan, singing for Farzi and more.
Ever since Saba Azad made her music and acting debut, the actress has often grabbed headlines for her impressive singing and her acting craft. However, in the last one year, his otherwise private life has been in the news. Saba started dating Hrithik Roshan last year and since then there has been a lot of curiosity about her personal life. In an exclusive conversation with News18.com, we asked Saba if the focus on her personal life bothers her.
The actress confessed, ‘If one has to go to work, somewhere else, in another field, you go to work, you come back home, nobody is discussing your personal life. Your personal life is your business. But I think this is an industry where it will be discussed. But having said that, let’s talk no more about it.”
Leaving her personal life aside, Saba has started the year on a great note. He has sung the title track of Farzi, titled Sab Farzi, composed by Sachin-Jigar. The song is an instant earworm. Talking about working on the track, Sabah said, “I think we went into the studio and we did it in one take. And then there were some changes in the lyrics so we went to the second studio to change it. The times went back otherwise honestly it was done in one take. (Sachin-Jigar) what they want and they told me, ‘Have fun, go crazy, be yourself, do your thing.’
Saba has always presented a contemporary style of music, even when she has sung for Bollywood. Some of the best numbers include Detective Byomkesh Bakshi’s Calcutta Kiss!, Shaandaar’s Neene Na Mujhko Aaye, Kawan’s Bhar De Hamare Glass and Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota’s Nakhrewali.
When asked if she has deliberately avoided trying her hand at commercial music, Saba said, “To be honest, I don’t know what commercial music is. Bollywood Music is now. Not only Bollywood… it inspires, borrows, and makes it its own, (there are so many genres). You can’t really be like ‘this is Bollywood music’. Because sometimes you’re listening to reggae, sometimes it’s dubstep, drum and bass or straight-up pop. That’s why I don’t think Bollywood is one thing. It is a variety of things, of many colors. Coming to my music, we (Madboy Mink) have also given music for some Bollywood movies and they have chosen it, so I think there is no different Bollywood sound. That’s what’s wonderful about our industry, we cover everything.”
While her music has been keeping her busy lately, Sabah is also balancing her acting career. Last year she was seen in Rocket Boys. Sabah has more projects lined up on the acting front this year. “I am working in a show and there is a lot of work. I have done three indie films and the show I am doing is commercial.” He revealed that the singing assignment has got the ball rolling, but he has now been able to say yes to a few more projects.
On a different note, we asked her if she would work with Farzi makers Raj and DK, and the actress confessed, “Fingers crossed, their work is incredible, their scripts are great, and they are very fast-paced.” He is very smart and intelligent, and I really hope that in the future I will get a chance to work with him as an actor as well.”
fake will be released Amazon Prime Video on 10 February. The show stars Shahid Kapoor, Raashi Khanna and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles.
