India’s Under-19 women’s team suffered a 0-1 defeat against Bangladesh in their third match of the ongoing SAFF Under-19 Women’s Championship in Dhaka on Friday. Shamsunnahar’s strike from the penalty spot in the 7th minute created the difference between the two sides.
The match began with hard work by both the teams from the first whistle as Bangladesh made the most of their physical prowess and pushed the Indian defenders off the pitch.

Bangladesh got their first chance of the game, who were awarded a penalty in the 7th minute which Shamsunnahar converted into a goal.
Though Bangladesh went on the offensive mode and dominated goal after goal, the Indian women had a great chance to restore parity in the 40th minute when Sumati Kumari passed a ball to Mariammal, who took a shot from her left side. But went straight into the hands. Bangladesh goalkeeper Roopana.

India had earlier registered comfortable wins in the first two matches against Sri Lanka and Bhutan. They will play their next match against Nepal on Sunday in which a win will ensure them a place in the final.
