Sajid hasn’t directed a film after Saif Ali Khan-Riteish Deshmukh-Bipasha Basu-Esha Gupta starrer ‘Humshakals’ (2014). But now 7 years down the line, he is tying his laces to say ‘Lights, Camera, Action’ on a project that is finally underway.
The manufacturer in question is most likely to be Amar Butala, which will soon start with Shahid Kapoor Starrer ‘Bull’ which he is co-producing with Bhushan Kumar and Garima Mehta (who are partners in Butala’s company).
If all goes well, Sajid and Butala John abraham And Riteish Deshmukh Considering to lead the cast. Says a source, “As things stand today, the film will be a comedy.”
The John-Riteish film may go on floors in mid-2002, but only after ‘Bull’ was done in a major way.
Butala, Deshmukh and Khan could not be reached for comment despite repeated attempts.
Sajid made his directorial debut with Darna Zaroori Hai (2006), produced by Ram Gopal Varma. Her high-point was the ‘Housefull’ franchise – Part 1 (2010) and Part 2 (2012) – after which she broke up with its producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Reportedly, things got ironed between them after some time, or made to iron—but Khan hasn’t directed for Nadiadwala after that.
