Salman, Aamir, Rani and others attend Pamela Chopra’s prayer meet

Pamela Chopra, wife of veteran director Yash Chopra, passed away on Thursday at the age of 74. Now on Sunday, a prayer meeting was organized in Mumbai, in which many people from the film industry participated. Salman Khan, who has given some major hits like Tiger series under the YRF banner, arrived in the evening after Pamela Chopra’s prayer. Stars Aamir Khan along with his son Junaid Khan attended the prayer meet. Rani Mukerji, wife of Pamela Chopra’s son Aditya Chopra, attended the prayer in the evening. Preity Zinta, who has worked in the iconic film Veer-Zaara directed by Yash Chopra, was also seen at the meet.
Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, director Karan Johar reached the campus to pay homage to him. Actor Hrithik Roshan’s father Rakesh Roshan was also seen with his wife Pinky Roshan. For those who are unaware, Abhishek Bachchan played the iconic character of ACP Jai Dixit in YRF’s Dhoom series, while Aditya Roy Kapur played the titular role in the film Daawat-e-Ishq, which was backed by Yash Raj Films.
Actors Riteish Deshmukh and Divya Dutta were also clicked as they entered the premises. Film critic Anupama Chopra and director Zoya Akhtar were also clicked stepping out of their car as they headed inside.
Vicky Kaushal, husband of veteran actresses Dimple Kapadia and Katrina Kaif, also attended the prayer meeting. Kiran Rao and Bollywood singer Udit Narayan also reached the campus to pay homage.
Yash Chopra’s wife Pamela Chopra passed away on April 20 at the age of 74. He is survived by his two sons, Aditya and Uday Chopra. Pamela Chopra was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after suffering from pneumonia. “He passed away this morning due to pneumonia with ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome). He was hospitalized for 15 days in the ICU,” Prahlad Prabhudesai told news agency PTI.
He was cremated at around 11 o’clock on Thursday. Several people from the film fraternity have been visiting the producer’s house for the past three days after the family broke the news of Pamela Chopra’s demise on Twitter. Shah Rukh Khan along with his son Aryan, Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif-Vicky Kaushal, Kajol, Manisha Koirala, Kirron Kher and other stars arrived at Aditya Chopra’s residence in Juhu on Thursday to pay their last respects.
On Thursday evening, Amitabh Bachchan along with his son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai were spotted outside the producer’s house. Other stars like Jaya Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra met Aditya Chopra on Friday.
Pamela Chopra, the wife of the great director, worked as a singer, writer, and costume designer. Pamela Chopra was last seen in Netflix’s documentary on YRF Romantic In which she told about her husband’s journey in Indian cinema.
