After a gap of 11 years, the national executive of the party is being held in Kolkata. Samajwadi Party founder late Mulayam Singh Yadav had come to the city to preside over the previous meeting in the eastern metropolis.

The party’s national Kiranmoy Nanda said, “We will discuss the party’s strategy for the elections to Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh later this year and then the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. After the meeting, the party will also adopt a political resolution.” The Vice President said.

Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Trinamool Congress and the Samajwadi Party on Friday agreed to fight a united battle against the BJP. Tried to sideline Congress For any such formation, adding that the grand old party needs to shed its “Big Boss attitude”.

After the meeting, Nanda told PTI, “It has been decided that the Trinamool Congress and the SP will unite to fight the BJP.” Both the parties will also keep distance from the Congress.

SP President Akhilesh Yadav said on Friday that his party was following a policy of maintaining equal distance from both the BJP and the Congress.
