Sandeep Singh of Dayalpura village told the police that he was sleeping with his family members when unidentified masked miscreants came outside his house on a motorcycle and started firing indiscriminately at their house.
Sandeep further claimed that the bullets hit his car, the main entrance of his house. There were no casualties in the firing. Later Sandeep informed the police.
DSP Samrala Harvinder Singh said that a case has been registered under sections 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees). Indian Penal Code And related sections have been registered against unknown accused in the case under Arms Act. He said that about seven rounds of firing were done. He said that the matter is being investigated.
The police officer said that there are around eight to 10 cases against the complainant.
On April 20, Samrala police had registered a case against unknown miscreants on charges of attempt to murder. Singh GosaliCircle Head of SAD’s Farmers Wing on Machhiwada Road.
When asked about the status of the case, DSP Samrala said that the accused in that case are yet to be identified. He said that they are probing that matter as well.
Meanwhile, SAD in-charge Paramjit Singh Dhillon in Samrala has raised the matter of firing on SAD leader and worker with the authorities. He gave them a week’s time to arrest the accused or they would hold a massive protest against the incidents.
Police officials said that the CCTV footage of the house is being examined to get clues about the accused in the case.
