Samsung Electronics on Thursday announced its plans to build a connected world with devices and innovation at the CES 2023 conference in Las Vegas. The South Korean electronics brand shared with its key partners its expectations for refining connectivity and contributing to sustainability. The company also introduced the SmartThings Station, a smart-home control device that lets users link and manage devices at home remotely. It also unveiled SmartThings Pet Care, which can monitor and share alerts about pets. During the keynote, Samsung also talked about its new partnership and plans to reduce its carbon footprint in the home.
But ces this year, Samsung Unveils its vision for a connected world through cutting edge technologies with smarter and more intuitive experiences. The company said it is focusing on connecting devices and designing products to make everyday use of the technology more sustainable. As part of this, it has unveiled SmartThings Station and SmartThings Pet Care to ensure a smart home experience for users.
The SmartThings Station is a smart-home control device that supports Matter. It can be used to connect multiple devices at home, including TVs and speakers. It also allows for charging of gadgets. It also acts as a charging pad for smartphones, earbuds, and other compatible devices that supports 15W wireless charging. Instead of manually controlling individual devices, the SmartThings Station can be used to automate pre-set routines created through the SmartThings mobile app. It enables you to set up to three different routines with the push of a smart button. Routines can also be activated remotely via the SmartThings app. It is integrated with Samsung’s SmartThings Find, which helps users locate their lost devices. Samsung says that double-pressing the Smart Button will ring a nearby phone.
SmartThings Pet Care, the brand’s new pet service can alert people and pets to suspicious situations. Plus, with the SmartThings Home Monitor, users can monitor their home right from their phones.
Also, the company has announced a collaboration with Philips Hue To sync Samsung TV content with Philips Hue lighting via the Philips Hue Sync TV app. It also mentions the Knox Matrix, which syncs credentials across devices and serves as a private blockchain system for smart devices.
It also unveiled HARMAN Ready Care in collaboration with HARMAN which uses machine learning algorithms to collect and process data from the car’s sensors to measure driver drowsiness and distraction.
In addition, Samsung announced its goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The DX division will convert to 100 percent renewable energy by 2027 and achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
Samsung has already showcased new products at CES. Earlier, it added new models to its monitor lineup with new Neo QLED, MicroLED and OLED TV models. will also display flex hybrid folding display in the annual program.
