Bollywood villain Sanjay Dutt has finally confirmed his role in the upcoming installment of Hera Pheri. movie starring Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal will see Sanjay Dutt playing the role of a don. While Paresh Rawal will reprise his iconic character Babu Bhaiya, Akshay Kumar will play the role of Raju, and Sunil Shetty will play the role of Shyam. Sanjay recently reacted to the news of his joining Hera Pheri 3 and confirmed that he plays a blind don in the comedy.
During a press conference, Sanjay had earlier said, “Yes, I am doing the film. It will be exciting to shoot with the entire team. It is a great franchise and I am very happy to be a part of it. It is old (I have a close association with producer Firoz Nadiadwala), and it was great to reunite with Akshay (Kumar), Sunil Anna (Shetty) and Paresh (Rawal).” He was at a store launch in Mumbai.
In a recent interview with Bombay Times, Suniel Shetty confirmed, “With Sanjay Dutt, the film will be a laugh riot as Sanju’s sense of comedy is incredible. His comic timing and body language is another feather in the cap for this project.” He will take it to another level. We share a great relationship and it will reflect on screen as well.”
The first installment of the ‘Hera Pheri’ series was directed by Priyadarshan and released in 2000. It was a remake of the 1989 Malayalam film Ramji Rao. Neeraj Vohra wrote and directed the second installment, Phir Hera Pheri, which came out in 2006. Both the films featured Akshay, Paresh and Sunil as the iconic trio, and were hits.
On the work front, Sanjay Dutt has been roped in for his Tamil debut Thalapathy 67, with Dutt playing the villain of the film. This is not the first time that Dutt has signed a big south film. He was the antagonist in last year’s highest-grossing Kannada film KGF Chapter 2. Thalapathy 67 will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which will mark the director’s second collaboration with Vijay after ‘Master’.
