Government Upper Primary School Ponmudi has been equipped with smart classroom facility. Smart Classroom is sponsored by Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Antenna and Propagation Society (AP-S), and Committee on Promotion of Equality (COPE) in collaboration with Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. IIST). In a statement, IIST said that the class will benefit students from classes 1 to 7.
The facility will be used for distance learning with lectures and tutorials provided by students and faculty of IIST and Government Engineering College, Barton Hill. YVN Krishnamurthy, Senior Professor and Registrar, IIST inaugurated the function. Jawad Siddiqui, President, IEEE AP-S Site, and Member, COPE, were present. IIST’s Social Outreach Club Nirman also conducts online and in-person sessions for students of schools using this facility.
