Several states across the country have announced that they will reopen schools in view of the reduction in COVID 19 cases. Several states had earlier closed schools as the country saw a surge in coronavirus cases in January. Students will return to schools after online classes for more than a year. Here are some states that are planning to reopen schools on February 14.

  • The Uttar Pradesh government announced that schools will reopen from February 14 for class nursery to class 12 in the state. The announcement comes a few days after the offline lessons for class 9-12 students began on February 7.
  • The state government of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday announced that all educational institutions will reopen for classes 9 to 12.
  • Delhi schools are set to reopen from Monday, February 14, 2022, for classes Nursery to 8.
  • The Karnataka government decided to reopen physical classes only for class 9 and 10 students from Monday.
  • Chandigarh Administration has decided to reopen schools and coaching institutes with 100% capacity from February 14. However, all students need at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccination, while teaching, non-teaching staff must be fully vaccinated.
  • Schools in Meghalaya will reopen for classes 1-5 from February 14 and no mandatory tests will be required for those with double vaccinations upon entry into the state.
