As the downward trend continues for fresh COVID-19 cases in India and the vaccination campaign picks up pace, schools in various states are resuming physical classes with COVID safety protocols. Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya has asked states to vaccinate all school teachers across India on priority basis ahead of National Teachers’ Day on September 5.
Schools will open in these states from tomorrow:
Delhi Schools
Following a marked improvement in the COVID situation in the national capital, the Delhi government on Friday announced that schools, colleges and coaching institutes for classes 9 to 12 would reopen from September 1.
Guidelines announced by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) for reopening of schools and colleges from September 1, allowing only 50% students per class, mandatory thermal screening, lunch breaks, alternate seating arrangements and avoiding regular guest visits is included.
Tamil Nadu schools
Classes, colleges and polytechnics will reopen in Tamil Nadu for classes 9 to 12, as planned from September 1, Chief Minister MK Stalin announced on Monday.
The new set of rules has allowed that college and school students (classes 9 to 12) can travel free of cost (without a bus pass) to their institutions in Tamil Nadu in Transport Corporation buses from September 1.
Haryana Schools
Haryana government has decided to reopen primary schools for classes 4 and 5 from September 1. Students will be allowed to come to the school with the prior written permission of their parents.
Madhya Pradesh Schools
MP government will re-open schools for class 6 to 12 with 50% capacity from 1st September. State Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar said a decision on resuming physical classes for students from classes 1 to 8 would be taken later.

The Rajasthan government also announced the reopening of schools for classes 9 to 12 from September 1. Only 50 per cent students will be allowed to attend classes in each session to maintain the COVID-19 protocol.
schools in telangana
The state government has directed the reopening of physical classes in all educational institutions including schools, colleges and coaching centers from September 1, 2021.
Schools will reopen for all classes.
schools in assam
The state government is all set to resume physical classes in schools from class 10th to 12th from September 1.
Puducherry Schools
Schools in Puducherry will resume from September 1 for classes 9 to 12 with 50% capacity.
The school will conduct classes in two shifts alternately morning and evening.
