The sea water receded from Kozhikode’s Nainamvalappu beach on Saturday evening, triggering panic among the locals.

The district administration, however, said there was no tsunami warning so far.

District Collector Narasimhugari TL Reddy issued a warning to the local people not to go into the sea level.

Reddy told PTI, “The sea water went down by about 30 meters in the evening. Later it gradually decreased to 50-70 metres. However, since it is night time, we are yet to measure the distance,” Reddy told PTI. Can.”
