See: Electric scooter catches fire while charging; smoke rises from the parking lot

Another case of fire in an EV has come to light. This time it is about Ajmer, Rajasthan, where an electric scooter caught fire while charging. The electric scooter that caught fire was inside the garage of a house and hence, smoke and smoke filled the entire parking lot. As of now, it is not clear why the scooter caught fire, and the manufacture of the electric scooter is still unknown, but it suggests that there are still cases of EV fire in the Indian market. The incident came to light soon after an electric vehicle caught fire in Noida.

The incident in Noida was even more gruesome as the EV was caught when it was being ridden by the owners. As a result, the rider had to jump out of the vehicle to save himself from burns. While internal combustion engines are now in their most reliable form, electric vehicles are still evolving to become perfect. In such a situation, such incidents of fire in EV often come to the fore. In addition, there have been cases of battery fires in scooters manufactured or developed without any intensive R&D practice.

Actually, such accidents have proved fatal many times. Therefore, the government is also worried about this issue now. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has introduced a new set of safety standards. The modifications placed strict limits on the thermal diffusion resulting from battery pack design, onboard chargers, and internal cell short-circuiting that causes fires.
