Go to any restaurant or pub, you will find that mixologists are constantly experimenting with their drinks. Mixing alcohol with different flavours, syrups and edible flowers to create a unique blend is nothing less than an art. Don’t you agree? But it looks like a restaurant in Thailand has taken their love of mixing cocktails to a whole new level. wonder how? According to a Reuters report, mixologists at the Kimpton Ma-Lai Bangkok Hotel stirred up a Negroni cocktail with more than 630 liters of the bitter Italian drink. Considered the largest Negroni cocktail in the world, drinks include gin, vermouth, and Campari.
The Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok Hotel took to Facebook to announce that on September 12, 2022, the hotel had acquired a Guinness World Records The title of making the “Largest Negroni Cocktail” in the world. “In a remarkable 633.65 litres, 126 liters more than the previous record holder, our talented bar team combined 210 liters of a portion of each GinnieCampari & Rosso vermouth in a specially constructed 1.4 x 1.7-meter container completely surrounded by snow, on display in our beautiful outdoor garden, Urban Oasis,” reads an excerpt from the post. The attempt to break the world record took place during a grand ceremony and was overseen by Guinness judge Kazuyoshi Kirimura.
Speaking about the achievement, Kimpton Ma-lai Bangkok general manager Patrick Both told Reuters, “It’s a long time in the planning”. He said that the restaurant has prepared many such large cocktails before but doing it for the Guinness World Records is different. “There are different rules and regulations to follow. And we are really very proud that we are able to do it,” he said.
