Japanese art has its fans all over the world. Now, its allure has caught the attention of one of the most influential people in the world. We are talking about Tesla CEO Elon Musk. The billionaire was influenced by a form of Japanese art called Ipitsuru. For those who haven’t heard of this art form, Ipitsuru is a traditional artistic technique for depicting dragons. The dragon, which holds great importance in Japanese culture, is painted with a single brush in a jiffy. A video showing this technique of dragon art was posted on Twitter and Mr Musk described it as “beautiful”.
The text attached to the video reads, “Ipitsuru is an ancient Japanese tradition in which the flowing, river-like body of a dragon is created in just one stroke. In this video, artist Keisuke Teshima demonstrates the mesmerizing balance required for this technique.” show.”
Here, the artist paints with two basic colors and their different gradients. As he draws the brush in long swirling strokes, a snake-like pattern is created. The clip ends by showing the complete dragon.
