Sensex rises 363 points in early trade amid positive cues from Asian markets

Benchmark indices continued their gains on Tuesday with Sensex rising 363 points in early trade, gains in Asian markets and buying in major Reliance Industries.

The BSE 30-share benchmark was trading 362.9 points higher at 53,336.74. The broader NSE Nifty rose 122.25 points to 15,964.55.

Tata Steel, Reliance Industries, IndusInd Bank, Larsen & Toubro, ICICI Bank and Maruti were the top gainers in the Sensex pack.

In contrast, Asian Paints, Sun Pharma, NTPC and Infosys were among the laggards.

Markets in Asia were trading in the green along with Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo and Shanghai.

Stock exchanges in the United States ended on a mixed note on Monday.

In the previous trade, the BSE benchmark settled 180.22 points or 0.34% higher at 52,973.84. Nifty closed 60.15 points or 0.38% higher at 15,842.30.

Meanwhile, international oil benchmark Brent crude fell 0.29% to $113 a barrel.

Foreign institutional investors continued selling shares worth ₹1,788.93 crore on Monday, according to stock exchange data.
