Sergio Aguero back on the field for a friendly match

Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero was seen in action at a football match in Miami this week. Aguero changed Barcelona’s color for the match with the number eight on his back. In December last year, Aguero retired from international football due to a heart condition.

“tomorrow [on Tuesday], it came to my mind that I could play football again. The doctors told me that I had to spend five or six months in action, but I already wanted to train and play recreationally. He invited me to play a game in Miami and I didn’t go. I want to send a message to the doctor,” Aguero said according to SBNATION.

In October last year, the Argentine striker suffered breathing difficulties during a match against Alves and was eventually given 42 minutes in his first home debut for Barcelona. And he never played for the Catalan giants again.

“He has a very small scar in his heart region that is less than a millimeter, which is why it kind of short-circuits and causes those arrhythmias,” said Roberto Pedro, who treated Aguero.

Prior to the 2011–12 season, Manchester City signed Aguero from Spanish outfit Atlético Madrid. That season, the striker scored a last-minute goal against Queens Park Rangers to help them win their first English Premier League title.

Aguero joined Barcelona from Manchester City, ahead of the 2021–22 season. However, the striker could play only five matches for Blaugranes. His only goal for Barcelona was scored against Real Madrid at El Clasico in October last year. Aguero returned to the net in the 97th minute but Barcelona suffered a 1-2 loss to Real Madrid.
