The order issued on Thursday (June 9) was withdrawn the next day. However, a copy of the order went viral on social media on Sunday. DM Apoorva Dubey termed the incident as a conspiracy against her.
In an official letter signed by the acting Chief Veterinary Officer Dr SK Tiwari, on June 9, seven veterinarians of the district were asked to take care of the Fatehpur DM’s cow suffering from mastitis.
Veterinarians posted at Bhitora, Erayan, Ukathu, Ghazipur, Malwa, Asothar and Haswa were asked to examine the sick cow twice a day in the morning and evening and submit a report to the Chief Veterinary Officer on a daily basis.
The letter also states that if any vet takes leave on duty, the vet posted at Damapur will be filled and “no laxity will be tolerated”.
However, in a signed clarification issued on Sunday, DM Dubey said that he never sought any service and alleged that the letter was issued arbitrarily by the acting CVO.
“If I had attended or requested, a copy of the letter or order issued to me would have been marked to me as per protocol,” she said.
When the records of the dispatch letter were scrutinized, the Acting CVO had issued Order (Letter) No. 544 on 9 June and canceled it vide entry no. 545 dated June 10, is a sign of indiscipline and conspiracy, she said.
“I have been working in Fatehpur since last one and a half year and I am constantly monitoring the straw collection, water system and adequate medical support in the cow shelters in summer and found laxity on the part of CVO and Deputy CVO and already Have written to seniors recommending action against them,” the DM said.
When TOI contacted Chief Veterinary Officer (Fatehpur) Dr RD Ahirwar, he said, “I am on leave since May 28 and my deputy Dr SK Tiwari is working.”
Ahirwar claimed that he had no idea about the letter signed by his deputy which went viral on social media. Repeated calls to Dr SK Tiwari did not get any response.
