Shama Sikander marriage
Popular actress Shama Sikander is all set to tie the knot with fiance James Milliron on March 16, 2022 in Goa. The wedding will be an intimate affair only in the presence of close friends and family. They have opted to have a white wedding with the theme ‘India Meets America’. Shama was set to marry fiancé James Milliron in September 2020 but had to put it on hold due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Speaking to Etimes, Shama said, “James and I have waited two years for this day. We will have a white wedding and it will be two days. We are keeping it more international as many of our relatives have settled abroad. .. It will be ‘India Meets America’. I love watching people at white weddings, but I never thought about how I wanted to be. I love the simplicity, class and elegance associated with a white wedding.”
Talking about the rituals performed during marriage, she said, “I don’t believe much in rituals. The only one I believe in is to come together and celebrate love. So, it is more than a ritual. There will be a more spiritual marriage. One.”
Shama also revealed that she had chosen Goa as the destination of her wedding. She shares, “I am a spontaneous person and organized at the same time. However, I do not believe in planning ahead. I believe in living in the moment. We have been waiting two years for this day. Were staying and also booked. A venue in Turkey before the pandemic. Even now, there are travel restrictions and I don’t want my guests to go through any stress. So, we decided to change that and so we focused on Goa Diya. Since the climate will change in a few months we decided to get married in March.”
Further talking about the wedding preparations, Shama reveals that she is not sure whether Jaime’s parents will be able to attend the wedding. “They don’t even have their passports. They were trying to make them, but the pandemic struck. We’re hoping they make it to the wedding, provided their passports are made on time. Unfortunately, James K. A lot of relatives can’ not visit India on such short notice. Americans make plans a year in advance unlike us. This surprised me. Hum Indians ko toh abhi bolao hum chalenge. Meanwhile, Shama Sikander became a household name with her role as Pooja Mehta in the popular 2003 drama Yeh Meri Life Hai. She has also appeared in Aamir Khan starrer Maan.
