Kerala PCC (KPCC) president K Sudhakaran on Sunday said that no one in the party, including Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, has the right to oppose its directives, and later warned that he would be expelled from the party if he did not turn up. Will be removed. commensurate with your decisions.
Mr. Sudhakaran, also an MP, was speaking at a press conference in Kannur, where he said, “Shashi Tharoor is the only person in the party. A Shashi Tharoor is not Congress. If he is in line with the party’s decision, he will.” Will be a part of it and if not he will be out.”
His remarks come in the wake of growing discontent in the state unit against Mr Tharoor’s reluctance to sign a letter prepared by the party-led UDF MPs to the Center against the state government’s semi-high speed rail corridor. Responding to criticism by his party colleagues, Mr Tharoor had tweeted that it is necessary to put aside political differences on certain issues.
He also said that he would express his opinion after studying the Silver Line project.
The KPCC president said that everyone has a right to express his opinion, “but whether Shashi Tharoor or K Sudhakaran, no one has the right to oppose the party’s directions.”
“Such a right has not been given to anyone in the party, not even an MP,” he said.
Mr. Sudhakaran said a written explanation has been sought from Mr. Tharoor and once it is received, a decision will be taken.
