Chandigarh:

Haryana BJP leader Sonali Phogat’s family has questioned her death in Goa and demanded a CBI probe.

Sonali Phogat, 42, died of a heart attack on Monday night. He was declared brought dead in the hospital. According to news agency PTI, the police have registered a case of “unnatural death”. Between the questions, the medical board will do the postmortem.

Denying reports of arrest, police said those close to him or working for him would be examined as witnesses.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant told reporters in Goa’s Panjim, “We are taking it seriously. (The police chief) is monitoring himself. The investigation and postmortem report will come to him. The initial assessment points to cardiac arrest.” “

Sonali Phogat’s sisters said that they cannot accept that she died of a heart attack. He also said that he had “understood something” over the phone.

“My sister cannot suffer a heart attack. She was very fit. We demand a proper investigation from the CBI. My family is not ready to believe that she died of a heart attack. She has no such medical problem. No,” one of his sisters, Rupesh, told news agency ANI.

She said, “I got a call from her the evening before her death. She said that she wanted to talk on WhatsApp and said that something is wrong… Later, she disconnected the call and then she didn’t pick up the phone. “

Sonali Phogat, who went to Goa with the group, was taken to the hospital after she complained of uneasiness. When his family questioned the circumstances of his death, Goa police chief Jaspal Singh told PTI that there was nothing wrong with it but post-mortem would confirm the cause.

Sonali Phogat, a content creator rose to fame with her TikTok videos. She started as a TV anchor in 2006 before joining the BJP two years later.

She made her acting debut with a TV show in 2016 and also featured in a web series in 2019. She was a contestant in the 2020 edition of the reality show Bigg Boss.

Sonali Phogat contested the 2019 Haryana election as a BJP candidate and lost to Congress candidate Kuldeep Bishnoi. Mr Bishnoi, who recently joined the BJP, met the actor-politician a few days back and also shared pictures on social media.

On Monday, between 7 pm and 8 pm, she posted two videos and four pictures on Instagram showing the pink turban.

Another sister Raman told reporters in Hisar that Sonali Phogat called her mother and told that she was not feeling well after having the food.

“She had said that she was feeling uncomfortable. She felt that something was not right as if a conspiracy was being hatched against her. Later in the morning we got the news that she was no more,” Raman was quoted as saying by PTI.

The family’s stand demanded a CBI probe by Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders.

Sonali Phogat’s husband Sanjay Phogat passed away in 2016 at the age of 42. He has a teenage daughter.

Two years ago, a video of an officer slapping and thrashing with slippers in Hisar went viral on social media.
