But keep in mind, lentils are no ordinary lentils, it comes with a Southern flavor and an extremely healthy addition that is drumstick. An easy sambar, if you can call it that, shevga dal masala is enhanced with a tempering of ghee and curry leaves. Pressure cook, temper and serve, how easy it is to enjoy this nutritious dish. How to make Shevga Dal Masala El Shevga Dal Masala Recipe:
Wash and soak the urad dal for some time. In a pressure cooker add soaked lentils, drumstick, chopped ginger-garlic and all other required ingredients. Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles. Remove the lid and put on the necessary decorations. Now heat ghee in a tadka pan, add asafoetida, curry leaves and cumin seeds. Pour over the lentils.
As soon as you pour the tempering, put the lid back on. This will ensure that the aroma of the tempering permeates into the dal and will make it more delicious.
