The harvest festival of Makar Sankranti, also known as Uttarayan in some parts of the country, is incomplete without tilkut and laddus made from sesame seeds. During the festival people make sweets from sesame and jaggery and distribute them with family and friends. Shilpa Shetty did the same. The actress has made it a tradition to wish her followers on most festivals. For Sankranti too, she has shared a video on Instagram in which she is seen congratulating her followers with a plate full of sesame seeds. “May the festival of harvest give you all the love, blessings and happiness that you deserve. Happy Makar Sankranti and Happy Pongal everyone,” Shilpa captioned the post.

In the video, Shilpa is seen carrying a plate filled with sesame seeds. In North India, people celebrate Makar Sankranti, and in the South, especially in Tamil Nadu, they celebrate Pongal.
